Position Summary

The Design Engineer will develop and review design concepts and documentation for industrial enclosures, linears, lifts, and drives in cooperation and collaboration with customers.

Primary Functions
  • Assess customer needs and provide solutions.
  • Use specs and design data to evaluate the feasibility and manufacturability of the product.
  • Work directly with customers to use our capabilities to solve their problems.
  • Create 3D models and/or detailed layout drawings using CAD software
  • Apply applicable design and engineering standards to ensure product conformance, including NEC, OSHA, ASTM, EN, IECEx standards, and EU Directives (ATEX 94/9/EC).


Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university. Mechanical, electrical, or similar are a great fit.
  • Two+ years' experience of design for manufacturing. Time in a low volume, engineer-to-order environment is even better.


Skills
  • Developed knowledge of design technology and product applications.
  • Developed knowledge of electrical and electromechanical technology and product applications.
  • Progressive capabilities related to design for manufacturability, engineering standards, and CAD/detailed drawings.
  • Ability to manage complicated technical projects with service-oriented customer communication.
