Position Overview

The Sensitive Activities and Support Policy Staff Officer will work as a contractor to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP).

Pentagon, Arlington, VA

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors
  • Assist leadership in the conduct of oversight and governance, to include staff assistance visits and compliance inspections, for DoD sensitive activities and sensitive support activities.
  • Prepare briefings, talking points and recommended positions for meetings.
  • Develop and coordinate staff packages that include time-sensitive requirements for leadership to enable DoD sensitive activities and sensitive support activities.
  • Produce and disseminate reports and briefings that detail DoD sensitive activities and sensitive support activities and investments for Congress and Senior Executive Branch officials.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute SECDEF directed transformation efforts to modernize the sensitive support program including sensitive support and sensitive security applications for intelligence, Special Operations, acquisition, support to Non-Defense Federal Departments and Agencies (NDFDA), and operations in cyberspace.

Education and Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with policy development or policy analysis work within the Department of Defense. Relevant fields could include assessments, operational requirements and risk, or operational planning.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an oversight role for DoD Officer Level II clandestine and sensitive activities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with DoD and/or IC special access programs and related security requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with policy development, program oversight/guidance, and capabilities development and resourcing within DoD or Intelligence Community and mission integration on a military or interagency staff.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing and interpreting legislative language and impacts to DoD clandestine and sensitive activities and interacting with congressional committees on DoD/National Security Issues.
