We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Power Electronics Engineer with a robust background in power systems and a proven track record of working on Navy projects or contracts. The Lead Power Electronics Engineer will oversee the design, development, and implementation of power electronics systems and components for naval applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance with military specifications. Potential hybrid 1-2 days remote per week after 90 days.

$110,000 - $140,000 a year

The Lead Power Electronics Engineer will oversee the design, development, and implementation of power electronics systems and components for naval applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance with military specifications. Potential hybrid 1-2 days remote per week after 90 days.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of advanced power electronics systems for naval applications, including converters, inverters, rectifiers, and energy storage systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis and simulation of power systems to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Develop and implement control algorithms for power electronics systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate power electronics systems into broader naval platforms and systems.
- Oversee the testing and validation of power electronics components and systems to ensure compliance with military standards and specifications.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in power electronics and related technologies.
- Ensure all projects adhere to Navy requirements, including MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-810.
- Participate in and lead design reviews, project planning, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
