Who we are looking for:

F&R is looking for an individual who will primarily provide project management for construction materials testing and special inspection services. Responsibilities include coordinating efforts of other engineers, technicians, special inspectors, and sub-consultants to deliver results that ensure the goal of exceeding clients' expectations on every project. May include leading field investigations, engineering analysis and calculations, design and development of plans and specifications, and the preparation and review of reports for services provided.

What you'll be doing:

  • Project management of construction materials testing on large and/or multiple projects addressing building materials such as soils, asphalt, and concrete
  • Reviews reports, plans, drawings, specifications and other project data
  • Adheres to project budgets, record keeping, materials testing, and inspections
  • Coordinates and communicates with contractors and clients
  • Provides frequent updates to client/owner on project progress
  • Oversees and provides guidance for staff that may include other engineers, technicians, special inspectors and subcontractors
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria during the performance of engineering services
  • Work with staff of engineers, technicians, and admin personnel to provide service
  • Satisfies multiple and unrelated deadlines
  • Prepares technical reports and letters
  • Performs field inspections, testing, and special inspection services. Field work will include testing soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
  • Other duties as assigned


What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technologies, or a related field
  • Typically 5-10 years of experience
  • P.E. license required
  • Must be a team leader who can lead growth and success through F&R values
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R's pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
