SR DIRECTOR FOR SHARED SERVICES

SUMMARY

The Senior Director for Shared Services oversees the units that support the marketing and development team members who create and distribute public-facing communications. These shared support services include content gathering, copywriting, donor relations, data analysis, mail house, graphic design, print production, procurement, technology support, video production, and website management.

The senior director ensures that the services provided are aligned with the department's strategic objectives and in compliance with all government regulations. S/he is also responsible for the development and implementation of work plans for each shared services functional area, monitoring results and making operational enhancements as needed, and overseeing daily operations, including team member supervision, budgeting, managing expenses, and procurement. This position is a member of ADRA's senior leadership team and assists in the development of organization-wide strategic priorities.

This position will be based at ADRA Offices in Silver Spring, Maryland.

PRE-REQUISITES

Required
  • Master's degree and more than 10 years of experience in marketing, development, business administration, constituency development, or related areas with at least seven years in leading and managing large, high performing professional teams in complex organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, excellent oral and written communication, the ability to work well with individuals across all organizational levels, and to represent the organization in a mature, professional manner.
  • Proven success in developing high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams through vision casting, strategic planning, delegation, collaboration, mentoring, performance management, and modeling desired behaviors.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with proven success in developing solutions for mission critical projects.
  • Good working knowledge of Adventist church operations and structures.
  • Experience overseeing donor database and gift processing operations, the design and production of print materials, website management, and video production.
  • Experience with Blackbaud's suite of donor database software (Raiser's Edge, Luminate, and ResearchPoint) or similar, Omatic, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing and production software, and the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to represent ADRA at donor events, meetings, and other activities.
  • Experiential knowledge of international development and programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the shared services units that support the marketing and development team members who create and distribute public-facing communications: content gathering, copywriting, donor relations, data analysis, mail house, graphic design, print production, procurement, technology support, video production, and website management.


FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that the delivery of all shared services is integrated, efficient, sustainable, and compliant with department strategies, organizational goals, and regulatory requirements including data protection and privacy.
  • Develop a long-term, shared services business plan which includes mechanisms for continuous improvement and adapting to changes in the marketing and development environment for nonprofit organizations.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations, identify and monitor key performance indicators, develop the shared services budget, manage expenses, and generate necessary reports.
  • Ensure proper functioning of shared services databases and other information technology systems.
  • Supervise all direct reports, manage performance, mentor, and recruit staff as needed.
  • Work closely with other Marketing and Development Senior Directors and the Vice President to ensure that shared services are delivered in a manner consistent with the department's strategic objectives, resource allocation priorities, and brand guidelines.
  • Participate as directed to support marketing and development functions across the ADRA network of offices in the areas of policy development, accreditation standards, capacity building, data protection and privacy, content gathering, resource sharing, crisis communications, international events, regional campaigns, and global branding.
  • Undertake any other duty as may be directed by the Vice President for Marketing and Development.


TRAVEL
  • Up to 20% domestic travel. Occasional international travel as needed. Must have the ability to travel at short notice if necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA)

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation. Incumbent should be in optimal health for domestic travel in general.
