Translational Vascular Medicine Branch


The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is seeking to recruit an outstanding Staff Clinician with expertise in vascular medicine to support the Laboratory of Vascular Thrombosis and Inflammation. The primary responsibilities with be supporting the translational and clinical research program.


These responsibilities will include providing expert vascular medicine patient care, supporting research study design and execution, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts. The Vascular Thrombosis & Inflammation Program works closely with a wide range of independent research groups, and the position offers exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside of the NIH.


The incumbent will be trained and certified in vascular medicine to enable them and treat patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting, read noninvasive vascular laboratory studies. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator of the Laboratory of Vascular Thrombosis and Inflammation. A priority is for the incumbent to contribute to the thriving academic mission of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The successful candidate should have a strong track record of achievement, expertise and experience in the area of cardiovascular medicine. Applicants must have a medical degree (M.D., M.B.B.S., or D.O.). Salary is commensurate with clinical and research experience.


Appointees may be US citizens, US permanent residents, or non-residents with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa. However, the candidate must be licensed in the United States and must be able to obtain a Maryland Medical License.
