The Vice President of Finance leads Ox Hill s financial strategy. This role calls for a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and management skills, considerable financial expertise, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, dynamic work environment. The candidate must exhibit expertise in handling significant communications with Ox Hill s owners and investors. The ideal candidate will excel in sourcing equity and debt, with a strong focus on successful deal closures.


This is an in-person position that works out of our Fairfax, VA offices.



Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the Managing Principal on financial matters, including financial analysis, forecasting, and strategy.
  • Establish financial goals, evaluate performance, and communicate critical matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Source equity and debt and ensure successful closures.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Research and analyze economic trends, competitor behavior, and market conditions that may impact company performance.
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess potential investments.
  • Implement financial policies, controls, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Partner with the Managing Principal to manage relationships with lenders, investors, government officials, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Lead finance team on due diligence for potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Monitor project performance, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team. Promote a culture of high performance, research, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Human Resources to establish a growth plan for the Finance & Accounting departments and recruit top talent for your team.
  • Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross-team processes that involve Finance & Accounting and reporting.



Education/Experience Requirements

  • Possess a degree in Business, Economics, or Accounting; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master of Finance, Economics, or Accounting is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role of a similar nature in a high-growth organization.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CFA, CCIM, or CMA are preferred.
  • Has an established, robust professional network within equity, lending, and capital markets.
  • A proven track record of equity and debt sourcing with a history of successful closures.
  • Demonstrated track record of creative problem-solving, coupled with significant achievements in investor success.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with senior management, investors, and government officials.
  • Proficient in utilizing financial software such as Argus for analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of real estate-specific tax requirements and compliance/regulations.
