Miller Brother Staffing has the immediate need of experienced Material Handlers for 2nd shift in Southern York County.

PAY RATE - $18.50 an hour + 10% shift differential ($1.85 = $20.35/hour
Openings- 2 ndShift X2 Openings;
SHIFTS-
  • 2nd Shift:2PM-10PM | ** Shift runs Monday-Friday** (Training will be on 1 st shift for 3-5 months)
3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS CLIENT NEEDS THIS PERSON TO HAVE:
  • Reliable, Eager to Learn, Organized, and Detail oriented Individuals.
  • Self-Management, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving Skills.
  • Material Handling/ or Forklift Operating Equipment experience required; Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
POSITION SUMMARY-
The Material Handler-Forklift Operator will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Associate is engaged in a variety of warehouse duties including receiving of materials, pulling material for use and delivery to designated areas and use of computer system for inventory management.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
  • Performs a variety of material handling and inventory control tasks, which include but are not limited to receiving of raw material deliveries, preparation of material for use in production, transport of materials, and storage of materials in appropriate warehouse areas.
  • Accurately performs work assignments and computer transactions that are required to adjust inventory.
  • Accurately performs calculations using various units of measure
  • Performs visual inspection of all materials handled to ensure quality
  • Utilizes manual and power material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner to move and arrange material.
  • Maintains workflow by ensuring that the proper materials are provided in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, notifying lead operators and/or supervisors of unsafe practices, conditions, or acts
  • Performs work according to SPARs, Work Instructions and verbal instructions; proactively seeks lead and/or supervisor for assistance in problem resolution
  • Receives and unpacks materials and supplies
  • Checks receipts and bills of lading against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects
  • Completes required verifications and paperwork/documentation, accurately and timely.
  • Preventative maintenance; Maintain equipment and good housekeeping that does not compromise safety.
  • Operators work per instructions (verbal and written) and consult with lead and/or supervisor as needed on matters not specifically covered by instructions; work is cross-checked to review for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to instructions.
  • Effectively and respectfully interacts and communicates with other employees, associates, and supervisors; relays information to the next shift when applicable; voluntarily assists others where appropriate.
  • Conforms to Company policies and procedures, Quality Systems, etc.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires minimum of a high school education - HS diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Must be able to communicate amongst team members and higher-level employees.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
  • Works in compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Uses procedures and skills to carry out assignments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to wear proper PPE for extended periods of time. Minimally safety glasses, sleeve covers, and gloves.
  • At times, uses of additional PPE including masks covering mouth and nose for extended periods of time are required.
  • Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, and chemicals; will be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks, gowning, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, shields, etc..
  • Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (objects 50); constant manipulation of utensils for weighing of components, requires common physical characteristics and abilities, such as above-average agility and dexterity.
