The Swift Group is looking for a Software Engineer who will design, develop, configure, support, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters and support the development teams around that ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms, with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceAt least five (5) years of related Elasticsearch experience

Required Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated experience in the following:

Hands-on experience working with large SQL or NOSQL database clusters such as Elasticsearch, Greenplum, etc.Experience with designing data models, architecting data systems, and standing up or supporting large data platformsExperience troubleshooting Elasticsearch cluster and query performance issues to include working on query optimization with developers and tracking down slow log.DevOps experience building and deploying cloud and on-premise infrastructures with technologies like ansible, chef, puppet, etc.Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with ETL pipelines and how to interface with data stores, and API endpointsCapable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Knowledge/Skills

We re looking for someone with three (3) to five (5) years of experience and is familiar with the following software/tools:

Experience with Elasticsearch and related technologiesExperience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.Experience with modern programming languages like Java, Python, etc.

Support Elasticsearch and/or Elastic Cloud for Kubernetes (ECK) clustersAnalyze, design, and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologiesDesign and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologiesProvide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platformsCollaborate cross-functionally with developers, project managers and other engineersTroubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issuesProvide recommendations for continuous improvement
