Position Title: DOD Manufacturing Project ManagerDepartment: ManufacturingLocation: Bethesda MD (on-site)Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Position Summary:The DOD Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to the production and manufacturing of defense-related products. This role ensures that manufacturing projects align with Department of Defense (DOD) standards, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements. The Project Manager will oversee project teams, manage resources, and ensure compliance with federal regulations and defense contracts.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Management:Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with DOD standards, regulations, and contract requirements.Implement quality control measures to ensure product reliability and adherence to specifications.Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance and quality.Resource Management:Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency.Coordinate with procurement teams to secure necessary materials and equipment.Stakeholder Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact between the manufacturing team and DOD representatives.Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, including progress reports, budget status, and any issues encountered.Facilitate meetings and communication among project team members, senior management, and external partners.Risk Management:Identify potential risks related to manufacturing projects and develop mitigation strategies.Ensure contingency plans are in place to address unforeseen challenges and delays.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance reports.Prepare and submit required documentation to DOD officials and other stakeholders.Team Leadership:Lead and motivate project teams, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing project management, preferably in the defense industry.Proven track record of managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.Skills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of DOD standards and regulations.Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Physical Requirements:Ability to travel to various project sites as required.Capability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.Work Environment:The role may require working outside standard office hours to meet project deadlines.The position may involve occasional lifting of materials and equipment.Security Clearance:Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the position.$100,000 - $150,000 a year
