**Team Summary**

The Meter Systems Support team is a centralized group that manages the business support required for the development, enhancement, maintenance and operation of AEPs meter reading management and data storage systems.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a high degree of initiative, individual judgment, independence, and data analysis skills. This position also requires strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

The ideal candidate would be technically savvy to bridge the gap between distributed business unit employees and central IT staff for business analysis, data analytics and data stewardship.

**Position Summary**

Perform business analysis, data analytics, and data stewardship for the AEP CIT program initiative.

The primary focus of this Functional System Analyst is to perform the role of data stewardship for Customer Meter Data. The ideal candidate will define data elements and participate in the processes to establish policies and procedures related to the collection and accuracy of data, and perform tests on the data systems. Being a data steward ensures sufficient data quality is maintained so that the data can effectively support business processes.

Knowledge of utility metering processes, meter data, meter reading systems, and smart meter concepts or the specific functions within the utility meter reading systems is desired and familiarity with Oracle MDM (Meter Data Management) system functional areas is a plus!

**Principal Accountabilities**

- Identify and initiate process improvements.

- Create business process documentation to support customers in the Operating Companies.

- Work to resolve outstanding system issues by applying knowledge of application functionality and associated business processes. Interact effectively with Business Unit and IT personnel to provide input to change requests and to ensure the completeness of enhancement requirements and process considerations.

- Use oral and written communication in a clear, organized and timely manner. Obtain and share information related to current issues that may influence departmental and/or corporate operations.

- Establish clear, practical goals and milestones that contribute to own performance and to corporate goals. Organize own work well. Demonstrate an understanding of the link between own job responsibilities and overall organizational goals. - Ability to retrieve data from various sources as necessary.

- Researches and gathers data to make data-driven decisions.

- Able to utilize tools and application to efficiently complete tasks.

- Able to troubleshoot complex issues with little to no guidance.

- Possesses skills to compile basic, visual aids using the tools and applications available for visual representation of data.

- Experience working in meter systems, MDS, MACSS, MDM, and Command Center (MDS).

- Able to analyze data discrepancies between Multiple systems and create processes to resolve such differences.

- Work with Operating Companies to define any new business rules related to standardizing data.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience**

Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Field preferred with 5 Years of Experience;

(Or) Associate's in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Field preferred with 7 Years of Experience

**Functional Analyst Sr. (Meter Data Steward)

Education/Experience**

Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Field preferred with 8 Years of Experience;

(Or) Associate's in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Math or Statistics Field preferred with 9 Years of Experience

**Additional Information**

The preferred talent will have:

- Organizational, time management and communication skills.

- Competency in PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

- Advanced knowledge of Excel, QMF (SQL) and other analytical/query tools.

- Competency in AEP-utilized software, including ServiceNow, MDM, Command Center, UIQ, and MACSS is preferred.

- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and the ability to determine the root causes of complex problems are required.

- Able to read reactions of an audience and adjust delivery style to fit the audience.

- Able to develop and present business documents and reports clearly, concisely and effectively.

- Strong training and presentation skills.
