Position Overview

One of our contracts under The Department of State is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer (Journeyman). The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in IaC (ARM/Bicep), Linux administration, and Azure cloud technologies to manage, maintain, and contribute to our growing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Container ecosystem in a hybrid cloud environment. Experience and willingness to work with and support physical server equipment is a must. This role is part of a team that rigorously adheres to modern DevOps tenets and demands strong scripting skills to develop and troubleshoot automation and deployment scripts. The environment is primarily a Windows environment, so experience with operating Linux servers in secure Active Directory-based organizations is a plus.

Clearance Status

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret clearance

Work Schedule

Five (5) days a week onsite to start, with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule in the future

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Azure cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Administer Red Hat Virtual Machines
Manage physical server hardware and ensure operational performance
Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD and automation
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker
Develop and continuously implement infrastructure and operational best practices

Contribute to scripts and tools to enhance Operational and Developer efficiency (DevEx)

Required Skills

Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
5+ Years developing and deploying infrastructure using IaC (preferably ARM / Bicep)
5+ Years Linux Administration
3+ Years managing Azure Cloud Infrastructure
Strong proficiency with a scripting language such as PowerShell or Bash
Experience managing physical server hardware
Working knowledge Docker for building and running applications in containers
Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD
Familiarity with operational visibility and aggregating logs and metrics for system and application monitoring

Desired Skills

Experience with App Service Environment
Experience with ElasticSearch
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Experience managing Linux VMs in a Windows Active Directory Environment
Experience deploying and managing GPU intensive workloads in enterprise environments
Experience with Python
Knowledge of common build tools such as NPM and MSBuild
General understanding of running and managing ML Models as part of a CI/CD pipeline
