Russian Linguist LEO Junior: Language Exploitation Operations (LEO) Team: IC-CAP is looking for Russian Linguist to work with our Russian Language Exploitation team. You will work as a member of the team to conduct exploitation/analysis using intelligence and information from multiple data sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues and developments that are regional or functional in nature. Provides all-source exploitation support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence requirements. Job Description: * Conducts exploitation/analysis using intelligence and information from multiple data sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues and developments that are regional or functional in nature. Provides all-source exploitation support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence requirements. * Conducts and prepares accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions of foreign language data, consisting of hand or type written, audio, and/or video language material and documents in hard copy and electronic formats, using correct syntax and expression from the specific foreign language and in English, in a manner that maintains the integrity and meaning of the material. * Maintains the ability to quickly scan and process a large amount of material in a foreign language for critical and essential elements of information as defined by NMEC standard operating procedures (SOP). NMEC SOP shall be provided upon contract award. * Provides input to media exploitation team members in the production of serialized written reports developed from target material utilizing the specific foreign language, such as providing a gist (summarization of key points), summary, transcript, or written translation of the material. * Leverages technical automated information system skills, such as word processing and data entry, to be used in conjunction with written translations, use advanced language software programs, and participate in forensic processing. * Produces serialized reports of exploitation/transliteration disseminated to customers and analysts and liaison officers at NMEC. Qualifications: * LEO analysts should have a minimum of general professional proficiency of 3/3 in the foreign language and a minimum of general professional proficiency 3/3 in English, with preference given to general professional proficiency plus (3+) or higher whenever possible. * At least 50% of Las should have general proficiency plus (3+) or higher in the foreign target language, and at least 20% of Las should have military intelligence and/or equivalent experience. Education and Experience: * Mid-Level Three (3) years of experience relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last two (2) years and either a bachelor's degree or an additional four (4) years of direct experience, for a total of seven (7) years of experience in the specific labor category may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
