Pursue sales leads by visiting existing and new customers of strategic importance, responding to more complex customer inquiries, and negotiating prices and delivery times. Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and monitor and adapt sales activities to meet these objectives.Key Responsibilities:Note: Local and overnight travel required throughout the Midwest Region - up to 50-75% travel (company car program provided)New business development is the primary focus. Wins new business by developing and presenting valued propositions to prospective customers.Communicates with existing customers and manages accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.Partners with colleagues in functional areas including, but not limited to, Production, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Logistics in order to provide the best customer service possible.Interacts with and assists sales managers and/or directors to achieve sales goals.Creates detailed price quotes.Creates and delivers presentations to internal and external customers, along with samples and prototypes.Completes and updates sales-related paperwork and reporting systems.Maintains relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, product area, or accounts.Solicits requests for quotes.May execute re-pricing action for underperforming accounts when necessary.May interface with plants to determine lost and new customer opportunities (e.g., customer segment, value propositions).Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of adhesive sales experience.Knowledge and Skills:Possesses solid sales experience.Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.Possesses excellent time management and planning skills.Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to perform cold customer calls and follow up on leads.Demonstrated negotiation skills.Overnight travel is required.At Greif, your work has purpose, colleagues care about your well-being, and you have the opportunity to grow and thrive.
