LeaderStat is in search of a Director of Clinical Operations for a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center in Columbus, Ohio. This role will have dual responsibility between two central Columbus locations.


This is a Full Time, Salaried position. M-F, 8-hours/day, 40-hours/week.

The Director is an integral part of a team who is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facilities. They will work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) to provide guidance in the OR, Preop, PACU, Pain Management, SPD, and Materials departments. The Director will also work in collaboration to manage the facility s quality improvement, risk management, infection control, safety, human resources, staff health and education programs.


Lead and direct all care and services provided to ensure optimal patient care. Demonstrates experience and expertise in surgical services. Demonstrates leadership skills that include but are not limited to the ability to plan, communicate, align resources, engage management and staff, and work across the continuum and achieve service, safety, clinical and operating goals.

The successful candidate will:

  • Evaluate current processes and refines or improve processes across the function in response to health care trends, clinical and service evidence, economics and regulatory mandates and change.
  • Establish and ensures a sustaining environment that values diversity, open communication, teamwork both within departments and between department s, and shared decision making at every level in the departments.
  • Actively engages the management team in fulfillment of desired strategic and operational objectives and results.
  • Facilitate performance improvement activities that impact Surgical Services across the organization and in collaboration with the System.
  • Regularly review metrics related to performance including safety, clinical outcomes, efficiency, productivity, volume, and other key operation metrics.; Maintain a focus on the balanced scorecard results and targets. Solicits benchmark performance results for areas requiring improvement and develops and implements plans that reflect best practices.
  • Monitor and promotes a culture of safety throughout Surgical Services.
  • Develop capital and operational equipment plan based on future forecasts, trends in utilization, replacement needs and other variables to best estimate investment needs and ensure operation of Surgical Services.
  • In collaboration with the Surgical Services management team, develop staffing plans that balance productivity, associate satisfaction and the needs of patients and physicians.
  • Manage and influences change and leads Surgical Services management team and associates in overcoming resistance to change.
  • Coordinate patient care, operational management, and improvement with medical staff leaders through surgical governance, Surgery Operations Committee and other departmental and/or hospital committees.





Provide leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility s policies & procedures.

  • Demonstrate respect for co-workers & leadership and develops positive working relationships within departments.
  • Provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
  • Recognize legal policy limits and individual practice.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in Ohio or a Compact State licensure
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Nursing Management experience in an acute care hospital, or ambulatory surgery setting
  • Documentation of completion of training in infection control
  • Current BLS certification
  • PACU experience, or a willingness to complete an orientation to PACU
  • Previous experience in orthopedics (preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Operating Room nursing experience.


Pay Details:

$96,000 - $125,000 / year
