Manufacturing Plant Manager

Job description

As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the entire operations in a manufacturing plant. Plant managers plan, direct, organize, and run the optimum operations of the plant daily. You will create and execute organizational or departmental goals procedures, and policies.

Matern Staffing is hiring a Plant Manager for a State-of-The-Art Food Manufacturing facility located in Stafford, VA. With a focus on innovation, authenticity, and superior taste, we are committed to delivering premium sandwiches to our consumers. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and dedicated Plant Manager to oversee our fresh sandwich production facility and uphold our commitment to excellence.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of fresh sandwich production operations. This will include ingredient preparation, assembly, packaging, and shipping.
  • Develop production plans, workflows, schedules.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI s)
  • Establish rigorous food safety and quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, USDA
  • Conduct regular inspections.
  • Implement preventative measures working with other departments.
  • Team Management and Development

What you will need:

  • Bachelor s degree in food science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, Advance degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a managerial role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in fresh food production.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g. FDS, USDA) and quality management systems (e.g. HACCP, GMP)
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams, build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a data driven approach to decision making.
  • ERP systems experience, production planning, and inventory management software.
  • Certificate in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies a plus.
