Role: Dental Hygienist
Department: Dental Clinic and Mobile Unit
Guaranteed Hours: 24 hrs per week
Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Start: Immediately
Duration: TBD in Interview (Minimum 4 Months)
Certifications: Unrestricted Active Dental Hygienist license issued by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners
Role Brief:
The incumbent will perform the following duties for all patients, regardless medical history, age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender:
Department: Dental Clinic and Mobile Unit

Certifications: Unrestricted Active Dental Hygienist license issued by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners
Role Brief:
The incumbent will perform the following duties for all patients, regardless medical history, age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender:
- Administers dental sealants and fluoride treatments as required
- Performs prophylactic/preventive treatments (i.e. cleaning, fluoride sealant application, polishing);
- Prepares patients and organizes equipment to facilitate dental treatments
- Provide oral hygiene instructions
- Documents history and findings using electronic health/dental record
- Administers local anesthesia under direct supervision of a dentist
- Obtains patient medical histories and maintains dental files, charts and records
- Sterilizes and maintains dental instruments, equipment, supplies, medications, and the dental room
- Takes digital radiographs
- Takes impressions of the mouth
- Assists in maintaining dental operatory and equipment per manufacture and ADA standards
- Provides Oral Health Case Management
- Assists with meeting performance standards of grant funded programs
- Observes proper OSHA infection control procedures
- Applies universal precaution standards
- Performs other related duties
