Your Impact to the Mission:

VMD has an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead to assume complete responsibility of Agile software development and support for assigned application(s), and:

  • Leads all scrum ceremonies and all team support activities
  • Responsible for metrics, documentation, and requesting additional staff support
  • Ensures that all assigned team members are functioning at peak performance and notifies upper management of any anticipated or unexpected downtime
  • Ensures that all release functions are consistent with PMO and SAFe methodologies
  • Develops agile release schedules and ensures conformance, identifies deviations early, and adjusts schedules and staffing needs accordingly
  • Monitors and controls release scope, time, cost, and quality while managing competing requirements
  • Identifies and tracks risks/issues, defines mitigation plans, and resolves project issues
  • Manages customer expectations to constrain scope while ensuring application effectiveness for all stakeholders

Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years' experience, or equivalent certifications and experience
  • Software development project experience
  • Familiarity with SDLC and productivity technologies (e.g., MS Teams, CLM, SharePoint, Project, Office Suite)
  • Department of State or Bureau of Consular Affairs experience, is a plus

Basic Qualifiers:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relatedfield of study
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree?Yes
  • Desired Certification(s):CSM
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience:5
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field:5
  • Minimum Clearance to Start:Interim Secret
  • Work Status Allowable:US Citizenship

Travel and Telecommuting:

  • Travel:Little (less than 10%)
  • Telecommute Options: Team is currently remote but return to office could occur. At times, being onsite is necessary to complete the work.
