Technology-to-Market Advisor, Government Partnership

Job description

TECHNOLOGY-TO-MARKET ADVISOR, Government Partnership

ARPA-E is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Technology-to-Market Advisor team as its Government Partnership Advisor.

The candidate will orchestrate connections between ARPA-E and other government agencies. This involves understanding those agencies' energy technology needs and looking for matches between our programs and their technology interests. The candidate will outreach to other agencies on behalf of our programs across their lifecycle - soliciting other agencies' input when programs are being formed, their help in evaluating proposals, and their attendance at our program reviews so they become familiar with ARPA-E technology and performers. The ultimate objective is to connect our ARPA-E performers with other governmental agencies as end-users and/or future investors. Key governmental agencies include but are not limited to DoD, NASA, and GSA.

Responsibilities:

* Build connections with government stakeholders, including (but not limited to) federal and state agencies, regulatory bodies, and international organizations.

* Manage our demonstration partnership program with DoD Environmental Security Technology Certification Program. This includes soliciting, selecting, and managing the projects. This program focuses on demonstrating more mature ARPA-E supported technologies at DoD installations.

* Serve as the lead ARPA-E representative to various interagency forums, including:

* Interagency Advanced Power Group

* Federal Consortium for Advanced Batteries

* Propulsion and Power System Alliance

* DoD Energy and Power Community of Interest

* Power Africa Working Group

* Organize the Government Agency Networking Program at the annual DOE ARPA-E Summit.

* Represent ARPA-E by attending and speaking at industry events, technical workshops, and other meetings.

Requirements:

* U.S. citizenship.

* Master's degree or higher. At least one degree in a technical field.

* Demonstrated interest/expertise in a broad array of energy technologies.

* Established networks or relationships with federal and state government agencies, regulatory bodies, and international organizations that are relevant to ARPA-E's mission.

* 5 to 30 years of professional experience, including a combination of technology, research, and government experience.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with a diverse set of government stakeholders.

* Ability to undertake a significant amount of travel.

Technology-to-Market Advisors will report to the ARPA-E Deputy Director for Commercial Development and will serve full time for a minimum of 3 years.

Location: Washington DC.

Questions can be directed via email to ...@hq.doe.gov with the words "Technology-to-Market Advisor" in the subject heading.
