Primary Duties:
- Conducts patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions on concern. Identifies and performs appropriate examinations based on patient history.
- Verifies prescription and protocol. Uses appropriate imaging parameters. Injects contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient's renal function status. Verifies image quality prior to ending the examination.
- Appropriately documents examination. Verifies the examinations is correct in both Cerner, PACS, PenRad and DynaCAD (when applicable). Assists in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies. Ensures the work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness.
- Promptly prepares films and CDs upon request. Assists with protocol development and implementation. Assists with the training of new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols and department policy.
- Collects quality control data for managers , such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination, and other necessary functions.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or one to three years, with formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- J ob-related experience or Successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program . This will be waived for WHC Radiology School students that have rotated to MRI.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) within 1 Year .
- BLS (Basic Life Support) .
