Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As a key technical leader within a passionate and accomplished team developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, you will focus on rapidly delivering trusted enterprise software solutions to the engineers, technicians, and other decision makers at Blue Origin, enabling them to operate our engines and vehicles at an increasingly rapid cadence. This is a unique opportunity to have a primary role in creating the systems used to drive technical decisions at the heart of our business.Our Principal Engineers operate at the intersection between Enterprise Software Development and tactically focused development teams embedded within our business units. You will be responsible for delivering performant scalable tools used to enable rapidly testing our engines, showing that New Glenn is healthy for each and every flight, and increasing the cadence of New Shepard flights. You will define significant portions of the overall strategy while honing your skills as a super-user of the tools and processes vital to managing the integrated system health data for ground and flight elements in a modern connected way.Our team demands technical depth and skill matched with humility and capability to be wrong, listen, adapt and ultimately find lasting solutions. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Deliver tactical progress toward an enterprise solution for rapid engineering analysis of flight and test data while working with domain experts to accurately define significant portions of the overall strategic planProvide deep, thoughtful technical leadership in our software and platform development in two ways. 1) Through taking ownership of significant capabilities and rapidly and iteratively delivering for customers and 2) Broadening the team s development capabilities as an advisor and mentor.Support Engineering and Test & Flight Operations teams in streamlining and achieving cadence and turn-around-time goalsIdentify where software development will provide significant returns toward these goals and meet the true prioritized customer needs. Personally develop some of these tools, and guide the development of others.Minimum Qualifications:Possess and Share a Passion for our mission and visionThrives in complex human and data systems. Has the ability to lead a team to produce the right results with partially defined requirements and changing criteria.Minimum of a M.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field5+ years experience in launch system, commercial aviation, military aviation, or similar industry requiring detailed configuration control to ensure human safetyDemonstrated ability to deliver tactical progress while simultaneously defining and evolving a strategic plan and vision that inspires othersDemonstrated ability and desire to rapidly learn and apply appropriate technology solutionsSelf-starter with outstanding organizational and analytical skillsCustomer focused, continuous improvement approachProven ability to work efficiently on Configuration Items within a Product Lifecycle Management framework and is able to communicate the importance of configuration managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:10+ years industry experience in aerospace and/or aircraft maintenanceUnderstands operations focused customer needs in an aerospace / launch vehicle contextDemonstrated experience with ground operations, logistics and ground system maintenanceExperience in the development of system engineering products such as requirements, interface control documents, and verification reports10-15 years developing enterprise-level backend systemsExpertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, NodeJSExpertise in ReactExperience using modern testing frameworksExperience with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline conformance and maintenance (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven) Experience with Software DevelopmentCompensation range for on site CO applicants is $190,193-$266.269Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $200,858-$281,200Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $200,858-$281,200Other site ranges may differApplications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity StatementDon t meet all desired requirements?
