THE ROLE:

Strategies for Change Group is hiring a Senior Communications Manager. In this full-time, Washington, DC based hybrid role, the Senior Communications Manager will oversee the communication strategies of SFCG by developing and implementing communication plans, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent messaging to internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU LL DO:

  • Develop and implement internal/external comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  • Oversee the creation of key messages and content to ensure consistent communication across all channels.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.

  • Serving as the company s primary media spokesperson handling media inquiries, preparing press releases and statements, and other communication materials.

  • Lead the creation, editing, and reviewing of compelling content, articles, and social media posts.

  • Act as key point of contact during crisis situations, providing timely and accurate information.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or relevant field AND/OR 2+ years/cycle of campaign or related work experience.

  • Previous experience in Senior or Manager level communications role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of political landscapes and campaign dynamics.

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
