Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Finance Accounting Manager to join our Accounting department based in Herndon, VA.

This position is located in Herndon, VA.

You will be part of a team working across the full accounting scope of the Commercial business, including Final Assembly Line (FAL) Operations located in Mobile, Alabama with the A320 and A220 Program, Engineering Centers located in Mobile and in Wichita, Kansas, and Customers Services activities for the after sales market as well as the Corporate Functions.

Your Challenges:

Lead the E2E closing process: 40%

* Lead the End to End Closing process to anticipate and prepare end closing activities with all the Finance key stakeholders to ensure a robust closing process that satisfies on time and on quality of Accounting Deliverables,

* Monitor the roadmap and the planning of monthly, quarterly and annual closings and ensure the clear communication to all stakeholders,

* Support the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process for the full scope of Commercial on time and on quality by addressing when applicable business-critical accounting activities related to G/L and cost centers activities such as accruals bookings, fixed assets, allocation cycles

* Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data & lead month-end analysis on the financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements by implementing quality checks and controls on the financial data,

* Lead the Closing Meetings for this scope by ensuring a regular drumbeat of work package deliverables and escalating issues

* Identify program risks and opportunities on the closing and measure their potential impact on the financial statements by ensuring the mitigation actions are assigned to appropriate stakeholders and implemented to full effect.

2. Lead and provide guidances on the Internal Control and Compliance scope for Accounting activities: 30%

* Work in close collaboration with the Head of Regional Finance Internal Controls of Airbus in the USA,

* Lead the entire scope of Internal Controls for Accounting and will ensure the full implementation of these controls into the E2E Closing process.

* Develop a holistic closing roadmap and calendars that embedded all the controls requirements under the Airbus Group ICSA ("Internal Control Self Assessment") guidelines,

* Contribute to the yearly ICSA campaign where he or she will be responsible of the self assessment of the Accounting controls of Airbus Commercial Legal Entities to various Governance bodies & IInternal key stakeholders,

* Propose design of key internal control to ensure compliance in the Accounting process and will propose improvements on implementation of preventive as well as detective controls.

3. Sustainable Reporting Requirements & Corporate Projects: 30%

* Coordinate the Sustainability Reporting requirements across Airbus entities in the USA for the Airbus Group Reporting Requirements. These new Environmental, Social and Governance Disclosures requirements will be mandatory for any publicly listed company to report to their shareholders from 2024 onwards. The Accounting Manager will design reporting capabilities and definition for the Airbus entities in the North America region,

* Support the Head of Accounting and other key stakeholders in External and Corporate Audits as well as the Audit of the Internal Controls known as "FIT checks",

* Contribute to Continuous Improvement Projects on Digitalization and automatization

Your Boarding Pass:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting skills, or Finance required

* Master's Degree and/or CPA highly preferred

* Good knowledge of SAP modules FI and CO preferred

* Eight to ten years or more of experience in finance, auditing and/or accounting in a commercial or industrial environment involving tight deadlines

* Demonstrated leadership in resolving or escalating issue resolution, team building, training and team support

* Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, build strong cross functional relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

* Promote speak-up culture

* Effective verbal and listening communications skills

* Ability to speak to audiences at all levels of organization

* Technical proficiency in SAP, Google Suite, and Excel required

* 10% Domestic and International Travel is involved with this role
