Lecturer- Human Resource Development

Job description

The appointee shall be responsible for all aspects of teaching the assigned courses including, but not limited to submission of mid-term and final grades within 72 hours after administration of the said exams for the appointee's assigned classes; electronic posting of the syllabus for each assigned course by the deadline announced by the appointee's Department Chairperson; submission of a copy of the roll book or its equivalent to the Department Chairperson at the end of the appointment period; and other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities of the teaching faculty are defined in the Bowie State University Faculty Handbook. The appointee shall be subject to all said duties and responsibilities. Additionally, the appointee shall be subject to all applicable policies and procedures duly adopted or amended from time to time by Bowie State University (BSU) or the University System of Maryland (USM). BSU agrees that if it changes a policy or procedure, it will not deprive the appointee of any monetary payment the right to which has accrued under the previous policy or procedure. Such changes will be made in accordance with all applicable established procedures of USM and BSU.

Conditions of Employment

Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and verification of credentials. Proof of US citizenship or eligibility for U.S. employment will be required prior to employment (Immigration Control Act of 1986).

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years graduate college teaching experience is required.

Education

Ed.D, Ph.D. or ABD (with evidence of completion by Spring 2024) in Human Resource Development or closely related field from an accredited institution.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Scholar in Human Resource Development whose research agenda and teaching interests include human resource development or related fields such as leadership, followership, organizational development, change management or organizational behavior.
