JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKG's), and Holter Monitoring. Provides assistance in scheduling or office as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
* Performs phlebotomy, electrocardiographs (EKG's), and Holter Monitoring. Provides assistance in office as needed.
* Performs ordering of all laboratory tests for blood draws.
* Prepares specimens for courier delivery to Laboratory departments or for send-out reference laboratories.
* Receives outside specimens, forwards to laboratory.
* Performs EKG's, explains procedures to patients; my be required to perform STAT EKG's; completes documentation; label strips.
* Applies and removes Holter Monitors, completes documentation.
* Maintains patient logs.
* Performs order checking of laboratory requisitions.
* Rotate to off-sites as required.
* Maintains EKG and Holter equipment, reports malfunctions to supervisor.
* Assists with clerical duties and registration duties, as required.
* Stocks collection trays, maintains neat and clean workstation.
* Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the care manual.
* Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Red (in the immediate area), Code Pink (if called), Code D (if called).
* Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee's knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
* Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
* Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years clinical experience including phlebotomy and EKG/Holter applications. CPR certification,
Phlebotomy certification is desired.
