Job Description - Member Services Representative Duration: 12 Months Location: Washington, DC
Qualifications:
High School diploma, vocational office administration training, and the equivalent with at least one (1) to two (2) years of office experience, OR a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years specialized experience that, provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Previous experience with confidential record keeping and working in a call center.
Familiarity with electronic records systems, databases, and the use of various computer applications.
Human resources, benefits, and pension processing experience is beneficial.
Knowledge of and trained in customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of records management process and procedures.
Knowledge of scanning and imaging systems to retrieve data and documents.
Knowledge of tools required to perform Member Services functions, including:
Photocopy machines; fax machines, image processors, and ancillary fulfillment equipment.
Personal computers and Microsoft office products.
Basic arithmetic, using a calculator or Excel.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to pay high attention to detail when performing data entry, cataloging documents, validating data/files, etc.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Willingness to work as part of a team.
Organization and coordination skills.
Duties:
Responsible for managing calls from the time of receipt to resolution; or forwarding caller to a representative who will provide more detailed information.
Responsible for member access to CLIENT Benefits forms, ensuring availability to members who visit the office, and directing call-in members to forms via the CLIENT web site.
Responsible for drafting member correspondence.
Responsible for the member experience: understanding the role as front-facing image of CLIENT.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Performs data entry for tax updates, change of addresses, and direct deposits, etc. Provides quality checks for data accuracy by reviewing own and others work.
Reviews member documents to assure compliance with instructions and information submitted.
Performs other work duties incidental to the work contained herein.
