The Marketing Manager, Washington, D.C. is responsible for managing the implementation of the regional marketing strategies and achieving budgeted top-line revenue for both Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC. The Marketing Manager is accountable for supporting guest room, food and beverage and events revenues. The role is responsible for maximizing profitability for the hotel and ensuring delivery of outstanding quality service for all customers. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the commercial team (sales and revenue) to develop strategies to maximize REVPAR and grow market share. The Marketing Manager is further responsible for the management of the annual marketing budget.
More specifically, the responsibilities will include:
Key operational member of the Marketing department, responsible for looking at the overall strategy, brand positioning and analyzing all key data with the revenue and commercial teams to develop and support business for both hotels
Oversee rooms packages, digital marketing campaigns, website copy, imagery and collateral
Execute regular Food & Beverage initiatives and marketing activations
Complete monthly marketing reports on performance of activations and marketing activities with clear digital metrics and ROI outlined when applicable, distributing these to the rest of the senior management team
Coordinate with partnerships and programming to ensure we reach new audiences aligning with our brand pillars
Coordinate with PR and digital agencies, identifying areas where we can improve
Report website performance, identify improvements and develop content
Execute strategy to support all digital and social media related activities and prioritize based on goals, performance, budget and priorities
Assist in developing and executing Sales & Marketing strategies through preparation of annual strategic sales and marketing plans
Ensure understanding of the competitive landscape and changing customer needs to ensure property success
Maintain excellent communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers
Ensure marketing meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
Ensure that revenue meetings are attended at all times and proactive strategy is discussed with relevant competitor intel and actions are taken where necessary
Responsible for staff training and development including appraisals and disciplinaries where required
Manage and execute the digital marketing strategy for the hotels
Oversee social media strategies
Oversee partnerships and special activations
Oversee and sign off on all collateral and branding
Oversee and sign off on all newsletters and guest communications
Take initiative to develop new approaches, markets and solutions in developing advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Marketing Manager will report directly to the Regional Director, Sales & Marketing. The position is based in Washington, D.C..
PROFESSIONAL/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
It is imperative that the Marketing Manager upholds the philosophy, culture, and values of the Lore Group and the hotels that this role oversees.
Qualifications:
Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing or equivalent
Very strong analytical, financial and project coordination skills
Good working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, InDesign, GMS, CMS)
Knowledge of Marketing, E-commerce, Copy Writing & Content Management
Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years in a similar position, preferably in a lifestyle brand hotel.
Previous experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment desired.
Previous team management experience desired.
