Responsible for conducting quality assurance clinical system reviews. Recommends resources in an efficient and economical manner to enable each patient/resident/veteran to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental or psychosocial well-being. Documents findings and composes accurate, detailed reports of each facility review.
Able to provide support to Administrator, Medical Director, Director of Health Services, Department Heads and Governing Body to formulate operational strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and schedules.
Current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations that apply to practice of nursing in long term care and veteran administration laws and regulations.
Able to assist the Administrator and Director of Health Services with Performance Improvement activities by serving in the capacity of PI Coordinator.
Demonstrates ability to identify areas for performance improvement purposes and provide recommendations that meet all laws and regulations.
Demonstrates ability to perform teaching functions and provide guidance and support to facility partners as indicated.
Conducts at least quarterly clinical systems checklists and provides recommendations to Administrator and Director of Health Services.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete projects within allotted time.
Able to communicate effectively with partners, other professional staff, consultants and veterans in interdisciplinary care setting and to government agencies.
Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care of veterans and facility property.
Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility information.
Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities, and issues. Proposes solutions to all issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or is a graduate of an accredited/approved RN program.
Five (5) years professional nursing experience and a minimum of two years as D.H.S., nursing management or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current, active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Strong working knowledge of JCAHO and VA regulations.
