Position Summary

The Marketing and Development Coordinator fulfills a crucial support role by assisting with the marketing and fundraising responsibilities and meeting the department's goals. To be successful in this role, the candidate must look forward to furthering MHAOhio's mission by helping to tell stories of impact and break down stigma while using MHAOhio's platforms to educate, inform, and inspire.

The position works across all areas of the organization to assist in creating and disseminating information and marketing materials and supporting sponsorship/grant opportunities. The Marketing and Development Coordinator also assists with the agency's primary fundraiser, Give Mom the Mic. The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively with many types of people, is technologically savvy, and is comfortable working on multiple projects with deadlines at once.

Schedule and Supervision

Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or as agreed upon with the supervisor, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday. Some weekend or evening hours will be needed as determined by the programs scheduled. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office responsibilities. It reports to the Marketing and Development Director.

Marketing/Communications

Provide support for the agency's email newsletter: brainstorming story ideas, helping to write stories, editing, and growing reader list

Coordinate MHAOhio and select program social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), including creating and designing compelling content that is consistent with the communications plan, scheduling posts, and monitoring engagement while collaborating with program leads on their programs' social media needs

Track analytics, including regular monitoring of MailChimp, social media engagement rates, and Google analytics, and prepare reports monthly and as needed

Assist with writing articles for The Advocate print newsletter, e-newsletters, agency materials, annual report, and website, as requested

Track and maintain marketing material inventory

Coordinate design for print materials

Coordinate ongoing website updates

Help to execute and monitor the agency's annual communications plan and calendar

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Development and other leadership, assist with replicable marketing strategies that support statewide expansion

Development

Work in conjunction with the Director of Marketing and Development on donor database management and usage

Support the creation, design, and editing of solicitation letters, appeal letters, thank you letters, and other communications to donors

Assist with Give Mom the Mic event planning: solicit and manage auction items, create auction packages and displays, provide support for marketing materials as needed, and coordinate day-of logistics

Assist with planning and executing the annual Holiday Magic event, which recognizes volunteers, donors, and board members

Assist with grant research

Research potential funding opportunities, including individual fundraisers

Research and identify potential new corporate sponsors

Manage donor mailing lists

Other

* Participate in agency events and activities

* Other duties, within the reason and scope of the position's primary responsibilities, may be assigned after consultation with the employee and supervisor

Qualifications

Required:

* Associate's Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; or a combination of some post-secondary education and a minimum of two years of professional experience

* Able to build rapport and collaborate with a diverse group of people, evaluate information and data, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

* Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva graphic design software

* Research skills and creating/working with spreadsheets

* Demonstrated ability to write both short and long-form compelling copy for a variety of audiences and purposes

* Work well independently and within a collaborative team environment, managing multiple priorities with efficiency and organization while receiving input from multiple sources

* Passion for mental health and the ability to engage compassionately and respectfully with clients, public figures, and community members who share their personal stories

* Valid Ohio driver's license required within 30 days of hire

Preferred:

* Fundraising experience

* Experience with InDesign

* Non-profit and/or health background

* Knowledge of fundraising CRM software

* Familiarity with Apple macOS

Salary Range: $41,000-$43,500 per year, commensurate with experience and other qualifications
