Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement virtualization solutions using VMware technologies across multiple enclaves within a global enterprise
- Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, including capacity planning, resource utilization, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Implement and maintain security controls and measures
- Respond to and resolve escalated incidents related to virtualization infrastructure, troubleshooting issues promptly and efficiently
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of virtualization configurations, procedures, and best practices. Generate regular reports on virtual infrastructure performance, security, and compliance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, system administrators, and security specialists to integrate virtualization solutions seamlessly into the overall enterprise architecture.
- Stay abreast of emerging virtualization technologies, trends, and best practices. Evaluate new tools and techniques to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of virtualized environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing virtualization solutions, preferably using VMware technologies. Experience working in a DoD environment is highly desirable.
- Experience leading a team through a culture of continuous improvement while following IT enterprise best practices.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is required.
- IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE) required
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, and associated tools.
- Strong understanding of virtual networking concepts, including VLANs, VXLANs, and virtual switches.
- Experience with storage technologies such as SAN/NAS and NFS.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration.
- Knowledge of DoD network security policies, STIG compliance, and RMF processes.
