Job description
The Physical Education Teacher will provide elementary school students a comprehensive academic and physical experience using the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. She/he will also be responsible for working directly in the classroom each week empowering students to be critical thinkers, responsible digital citizens and to be able to utilize technology resources effectively. This is a full time, benefit eligible, 10 month teaching position.

Essential Functions
- Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
- Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
- Creates an instructional environment conductive to learning.
- Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community members in educating students to utilizing technology tools effectively and to become responsible digital citizens.
- Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, required.
- MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
- Classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient in using a variety of technology.
- Experience in a Catholic school preferred, but not required.
