Traditional 235 work days per year

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $72,137 - $86,564

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Responsible for identifying and supporting the use of high-quality instructional resources, enhancing teaching and learning, and scaling effective programs to meet student achievement literacy goals and to prepare all students for success in college, career, and life. Focuses heavily on delivering high-quality instructional materials through the lens of resource development, curation, refinement, implementation, and continual improvement.

Elementary Literacy intervention position:

- Supports the development, implementation, and continual improvement efforts of intervention curriculum aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards.

- Contributes to the development of a coherent instructional program that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards and Colorado English Language Proficiency Standards.

- Applies instructional expertise to improving the effectiveness of intervention curriculum and instruction in District schools, specifically including implementation of the Colorado Academic Standards, which are inclusive of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

- Assesses the needs of core literacy, literacy intervention teachers, and school leaders.

- Ensures strong alignment between standards/shifts, scope and sequence, and assessment items.

- Ensures strong vertical and horizontal alignment in literacy intervention resources, as well as alignment with core programming.

- Develops bodies of annotated student work.

- Develops research-based recommendations for instructional strategies, professional development, and assessments to increase the quality of teaching and learning in literacy.

- Deeply analyzes multiple sources of student achievement data and research to enhance curriculum, develop supplemental supports, provide targeted, high quality school support and shift action plans to meet identified needs.

- Develops strategies and clear, specific, and ambitious performance measures for individual projects that are easily translated into individual work goals and deliverables for other team members.

- Creates detailed timelines for each initiative; assesses and tracks project progress regularly, using various computer programs and tools; and drives project completion by holding others accountable for responsibilities and deadlines.

- Develops a facilitates highly engaging professional learning and guidance for effective use of instructional materials and instructional best practices, in support of the district priorities for students outcome.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Five (5) or more years of highly successful teaching experience in urban districts with multilingual learners.

- Two (2) or more years of a proven, multi-year track record of exemplary teaching achievement, especially the achievement of low-income, underrepresented/under-served students.

- Two (2) or more years of experience of instructional coaching experience..

- Knowledge of how students learn in the designated curriculum focus and knowledge of best program practices.

- Experience in the implementation of standards and evidence-based instruction aligned with the science of reading research ( Required)

- Knowledge of best practices in curriculum instruction and standards-based education

- Knowledge of Google Suite products including, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Calendar.

- Superior analytical skills and sound judgment to make critical decisions.

- Meticulous organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines; flexibility transition between prioritized work streams.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.

- Capable of thriving in circumstances involving ambiguity and nuance.

- Demonstrated content area expertise.

- Emotional constancy and extraordinary interpersonal skills to ensure purposeful and professional colleague relationships.

- A strong desire and willingness to support student achievement in traditionally under-served communities.

- Works collaboratively with others on a team; contributes to a safe and welcoming environment.

- Knowledge of second language acquisition in the curriculum content areas preferred.

- Proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Spanish is highly desirable.

Education Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Master's Degree preferred.
