Position Description: As a Modeling and Simulation SME, your role is instrumental in providing critical support to IT programs. This multifaceted role entails various tasks, including:
  1. Modeling and Simulation Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive modeling and simulation strategy that aligns with the organization's goals. Identify opportunities to leverage modeling and simulation for decision support, training, analysis, and research.
  2. Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to resource for all matters related to modeling and simulation. Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in the field. Apply this knowledge to inform strategic decisions.
  3. Model Development: Lead the development of sophisticated models and simulations or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tailored to specific organizational needs. Ensure these models accurately represent real-world systems and phenomena.
  4. Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct in-depth analyses using modeling and simulation tools to evaluate scenarios, systems, and processes. Provide insights and recommendations based on simulation outcomes to inform decision-makers.
  5. Simulation Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling and simulation into various projects, programs, and training initiatives. Ensure seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals.
  6. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff and stakeholders on modeling and simulation concepts, tools, and methodologies. Foster a culture of simulation literacy within the organization.
  7. Research and Innovation: Engage in research and development activities to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities. Identify and implement innovative techniques and technologies to improve simulation accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for modeling and simulation efforts. Ensure that models are validated, verified, and meet predefined standards for accuracy and reliability.
  9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, analysts, and decision-makers, to identify modeling and simulation requirements and objectives. Translate these requirements into actionable simulation projects.
  10. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare clear and comprehensive reports, documentation, and presentations summarizing modeling and simulation results, methodologies, and recommendations. Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
