We have an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist (EHS Specialist). This position will be based out of our Columbus, Ohio plant. Responsibilities will include supporting our Columbus, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan locations.

Travel to Michigan is planned to be approximately 5% percent with the potential to be up to 10% plus of time dependent upon the needs of the business. Flexibility is a must as these travel estimates may vary to support new business and capital projects.

Summary:

Capital Resin Corporation is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist in our Environmental Health, and Safety (EH&S) Department. Under the direction of the EHS Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. This position will ensure that our company operates within all relevant environmental laws and regulations, implement sustainable practices, mitigate potential risks associated with hazardous materials while supporting other EH&S policies and programs. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.

Develop, implement, and manage environmental strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement around environmental, health and safety.

Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies.

Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste procedures including coordinating with external vendors and ensuring proper documentation and records.

Lead efforts to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling programs, and energy conservation initiatives.

Monitor air and water quality, hazardous material handling, and pollution prevention measures.

Respond to environmental incidents, assist in investigations, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Stay informed about regulatory compliance changes impacting the company. Ensure that the company policies and practices are updated accordingly.

Provide environmental training and support to employees and helps coordinate other EH&S policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

We are seeking 1-5 years of experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or similar industry.

In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) and hazardous materials management.

Strong verbal and written communications, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail is required.

Must be computer literate in MS Word, Excel, and Access.
