Job description


Our firm is seeking a highly qualified associate with two to four years of health care regulatory experience to join our growing team. Among other issues, this role will include a strong focus on regulatory analysis and policy advising related to the Medicaid program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, top-tier health care practice renowned for its integrated professional services approach, which combines legal and consulting services.the firm advises state governments on Medicaid program reform efforts. We also support a variety of other stakeholders to understand, comply with, and advocate for policy reforms at the federal and state levels.





We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest in and enthusiasm for complex regulatory and policy questions pertaining to the Medicaid program, as well as a passion for supporting projects that enhance access to affordable, high-quality health care services. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in Medicaid issues, such as coverage, reimbursement, managed care delivery systems, or demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act. Candidates without such experience are nonetheless encouraged to apply if they have a strong interest in and willingness to learn about Medicaid, particularly if they have experience with the federal Administrative Procedure Act.



In addition to working on Medicaid issues, this associate will have the opportunity to engage with all facets of our uniquely multidisciplinary practice. Our health care transactions and regulatory team assists with the structuring and negotiation of transactions, provides strategic advice on regulatory and compliance issues, implements a variety of contractual arrangements, and counsels clients on the full range of legal issues affecting the health care industry. The practice is fast-moving, cutting-edge and dynamic, with opportunities to develop close relationships with many of the most significant players in the health care industry.



We serve a wide range of clients that includes state governments; health care providers such as health systems, specialized hospitals, medical groups, pharmacy chains, and long-term and post-acute care providers; managed care plans and insurers; life sciences companies; regional health information organizations; telehealth and digital health companies; and labor unions representing health care workers.

Requirements




  • Two to four years of health care regulatory experience, including with respect to coverage and reimbursement; preferred candidates will have experience with Medicaid regulatory and policy issues and/or complex questions of administrative law

  • Strong interest in and enthusiasm for issues involving Medicaid and expanding access to affordable, high-quality, health care services

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with respect to both regulatory analysis for a lawyer audience and high-level synthesis for a Client audience; preferred candidates will submit writing samples demonstrating one or both styles

  • Strong attention to detail; excellent legal research and analytical skills

  • Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs

  • Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice






The base annual pay range for this role is between $225,000- $295,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. Additional medical, financial and/or other benefits will be offered dependent on the position.
