Internship description
  • The Hood Container Columbus Summer Internship Program is a 6 to 12-week experience that offers students an opportunity to grow their careers through a variety of focused internship assignments in the Accounting Department in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable. Additional clerical activities could be possible, time permitting, in the Customer Service department.
  • Our program offers hands-on learning experience in a nurturing environment, which allows interns to advance their professional development. During the internship you will be interacting with our accounting team members refining your professional skills and connecting with other employees in the Columbus plant.
  • Our interns will be role models and demonstrate the company's core values of Care, Serve, Evolve, Empower, and Trust.
  • Minimum requirements: Open to all business majors, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited technical college or university Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in groups or independently Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to preserve confidentiality of information Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Managing multiple priorities between school, work or extra-curricular activities Manage multiple projects while adhering to timelines Communicate status of projects to the appropriate team leader Responds to change as a positive challenge Ability to analyze and interpret information and apply to business needs Commitment to providing superior customer service Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs Demonstrates accountability for his/her decisions Assist with the documentation of Accounting department practices Complete cumulative project (summary of internship accomplishments) and present to Internship team or appropriate manager(s) Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
