SummitET is seeking a Classified Communications Service Technician to support the FEMA Response Directorate. The Classified Communications Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting classified communication systems used by the Domestic Emergency Support Team and Consequence Management Coordination Unit supporting a coordinated response to CBRN/WMD-terrorism threats. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of mobile and static classified information technology systems, coordinating with various stakeholders, and providing effective customer service to end-users. This role supports the coordination of consequence management and counterterrorism operations addressing CBRN/WMD threats. This position supports FEMA and works closely with the FBI and other government agencies.

This position may require frequent travel within the national capital region to attend meetings and support operations, training, and exercises.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and support mobile DEST and static CMCU classified information technology systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate IT support with relevant personnel from DHS and FEMA.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and maintain detailed records of activities.
    • Provide Tier-One information systems support for classified systems access, maintenance, incidents, and requests in support of DHS classified networks
  • Provide effective and efficient customer service and support with the ability to multi-task
  • Provide advanced technical analysis and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
  • Identify, analyze, and document trending issues affecting the DEST and CMCU users and report to DEST and CMCU Program Management to improve end-user experience.
  • Provide general technical guidance to program management and users in support of all organic IT services provided by the Domestic Emergency Support Team (DEST) and Consequence Management Coordination Unit (CMCU)
  • Conduct necessary re-keying of communications security material
  • Create, document, escalate, and track concise service tickets and repairs
  • Write technical articles, solutions, and how-to documentation for support and end users.
  • Maintain appropriate technology and computer security
  • Assist with testing and piloting new Classified IT services and tools
  • Assist end-users with HSDN and C-LAN account acquisition and tracking
  • Assist in reviewing CBRN policy concerns.
  • Support the development of strategic plans and doctrine frameworks.
  • Assist in planning and executing training workshops for DEST personnel.
  • Update training plans and lead training sessions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are desirable.
  • Previous experience in maintaining classified communication systems is preferred.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
