**Description**

This position will have responsibility for inventory control, purchasing, requisitioning, billing, receiving medications and finding ways to reduce waste and lower costs for the Frederick Health pharmacy.

Per the Pharmacy Buyer Job Description Experience as a retail buyer preferred.

**Job Summary**

Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.

**Example of Essential Functions:**

Pharmacy Buyer monitors pharmacy inventory levels (centralized and decentralized), orders drugs via the internal purchasing process, and prepares purchase orders.

Independently or in conjunction with other staff responsible for inventory control, the Pharmacy Buyer checks packing slips and invoices in regards to drugs received in order to verify accuracy, following standard operating procedures.

Pharmacy Buyer assures that all documents are processed via the accounts payable process.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**

Basic computer skills (including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) are required. Strong math skills are also required.

**Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:**

High School Diploma/GED is required. Pharmacy Technician education is preferred.

Registered Maryland Board of Pharmacy Technician required.

National pharmacy technician certification preferred.

Previous pharmacy technician experience required.

**Patient Contact:**

Performance of job does not require patient contact

**Physical Demands**

Light Work - Lifting up to 30 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes and/or carrying up to 10 pounds, or requiring walking or standing to a significant degree (about six [6] hours a day).

Repetition: Repeating the same motion repeatedly places stress on the muscles and tendons. The severity of risk depends on how often the action is repeated, the speed of the movement, the required force and muscles involved.
