As a successful contracting business, the company leadership team continues to grow. We are looking for a Safety & Quality Control Manager who will plan, implement, and coordinate our safety programs as well as ensure the quality of services meet company and client standards. The Manager should demonstrate sound judgment and adherence to compliance regulations, possess strong skills in administrative policy and procedure development and demonstrate strong relationship building and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive sites daily and send out field safety reports. Spot check crew safety on multiple job sites throughout the day and week.
  • Perform in house training on various topics including trenching and excavation, OSHA 10 and 30, CPR/First Aid, confined space entry, rigging and signaling, competent person, and more.
  • Manage, track and report on equipment issues and safety related issues that need to be addressed and fixed daily.
  • Ensure crews are consistently filling out equipment checklists daily and performing toolbox talks on job sites.
  • Draft toolbox talk content so that it is relevant to the types of work we perform and the common hazards crews face on job sites daily
  • Perform safety orientations for new employees
  • Mange our entire safety program and work on enhancing our documentation and submittals for jobs. This would include JHAs, MSDS, risk assessment plans, hazard communication plans, spill prevention plans, hazardous materiel plans and more.
  • Oversee equipment yard tests for applicants that will be operating equipment in the field prior to hiring.
  • Perform drivers test for CDLs and dump truck drivers to confirm they are operating equipment in a safe manner.
  • Mange our certification tracking sheet for all field and field management personnel. Confirming when we need to get employees through recertification and planning ahead so that recertifications are a streamlined and organized process.
  • Manage accident reporting and organizing information that may need to be provided to insurance.
  • Coordinate DOT physicals for new employees.
  • Organize all safety related items in one place, and enhance our current process of tracking employees that have safety infractions on job sites.
  • Provide oversight at the hospital, urgent care or drug screening facilities when we have accidents and employees need medical attention, or when employees are required to take a drug test as part of a near miss or accident.
  • Develop and maintain contract files in a manner that can be used to extract information for periodic reviews.
  • Provide Certificates of Insurance (COI's) to clients
  • Contract Prequalification
  • Reporting using Excel
  • Other assigned admin duties

Required Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred; English required.
  • Must have previous experience in a construction safety related position.
  • Past experience in managing safety on earthwork and utility related projects.
  • 1 year of experience in a safety management or safety coordinator role (site development and utility installation a plus)
  • OSHA 10 & OSHA 30
  • CPR and First Aid Training Cert
  • Confined Space Training Cert
  • Trenching and Excavation Training Cert
  • OSHA 500 preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Project management and safety software experience is a plus.
