The company also conducts an Arts-in-Education program aimed at using dance to help children learn self-expression, respect, and understanding.

Role Description

We are looking for a Hip Hop Techniques Dance Instructor and/or Latin Dance Instructors to join our team in Silver Spring, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching hip hop dance techniques to students of all ages at locations around the Greater, D.C. area. The role is a contract position.

Qualifications

• A degree in Dance, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience
• Experience performing professionally in Hip Hop Dance and Street Techniques from the African Diaspora - or experience performing Latin Dance Forms
• Experience with planning and leading dance classes for beginners and advanced levels for a broad range of ages
• An understanding of dance techniques, movement principles, and pedagogy in Hip Hop Theory or Latin Dance Theory
• Ability to add your own personalized voice within our curriculum
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with children, teens, and older adults in a teaching environment
• Strong ability to engage participants from a diverse range of backgrounds, abilities, and ages in high-quality learning experiences
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• A method of transportation to each teaching site is necessary
