Position Title: Facility Security Officer and Export Compliance Officer

Position Reports to: Vice President, Operations

Brief Description of Position:

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of security for STAR Dynamics, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government regulations and company policies related to personnel security clearances, facility clearance, compartmented information facility, control of classified information, and ITAR export compliance.

Duties / Responsibilities

• regular facility duties (e.g., facility maintenance requests, sign-in of visitor / logs and standard office practices) and general facility oversight.
• orientation of new hires and out-processing of terminating employees.
• and maintain a log of office keys and access restrictions.
• with various external U.S. Government and Foreign Government entities
• general office and facility functions.
• with staff to ensure compliance with all applicable export controls laws and regulations, embargoes, and sanctions.
• technology evaluations necessary to determine whether an export license is needed.
• reviews, and approves technology control plans and monitors ongoing compliance.
• and files export license applications primarily with the U.S. Department of State, Department of Defense Trade Controls; and U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security; and the U.S. Department of Treasury.
• commodity classification requests, commodity jurisdiction requests, and requests for advisory opinions

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.

Required Experience:

• of 7 years of experience as a Facility Security Officer or in a similar security management role.
• Facility Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• understanding of government security regulations, including NISPOM, FCL (Facility Clearance) requirements, and DoD security policies.
• managing security clearances, conducting investigations, and handling classified information.
