Job Details:

We are actively seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Assistant Controller to join our growing team in the Engineering industry. This role will play a critical part in the financial management of our organization, including the oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and fixed asset management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Ledger Accounting, AP and AR, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and overseeing staff. With your expertise, you will help us maintain financial efficiency and make strategic decisions that drive our success.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage AP and AR functions, ensuring efficient processes and accurate records.
  • Oversee and ensure federal, state, and local tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage fixed assets, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation.
  • Prepare trial balance and final accounts; prepare balance sheet finalization.
  • Oversee the financial staff, providing leadership, direction, and support as necessary.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements, providing clear and accurate financial snapshots for leadership.
  • Assist in budgeting processes, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, maintaining best practices in financial management.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting of accounts.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Engineering industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with experience overseeing a financial team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
