Our client is seeking a Contractor - Information Security Analyst in Vienna, VA.
Role Description
Basic Purpose: To compile, research, analyze and document data, requirements, workflow/processes, functionality and or controls for an enterprise logging, monitoring, and alerting team. Will develop and evaluate information, and prepare recommendations based on analysis for use in decision making regarding enterprise (to include Information Security) logging requirements. Will serve as liaison and / or subject matter expert related to logging for the Information Security department.
Responsibilities Analyze logging information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes, service specific practices, standards and metrics/statistics Interpret results of analysis; present recommendations, including alternatives and implications Collaborate with other business units to analyze and improve processing procedures and resolve problems Analyze changes in policies, procedures and products; determine the impact on the group functions Identify and analyze opportunities for new and/or improved processes, data, or technology; provide clear picture of possible outcome Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication of material Work with peers, business units and/or project teams, and vendors to ensure business needs are fully communicated, documented and satisfied Compile, review, and prepare logging requirements and data to be used in the analysis of operations, services, and products Conduct benchmarking, trend analysis, and other inputs to drive continuous improvement Produce analytically-driven inferences and hypotheses to generate actionable recommendations Solve business problems by defining the problem, interviewing stakeholders, identifying and evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings Provide input into best practices for the respective business area Ensure compliance with company's Credit Union standards and best practices Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements Experience that demonstrates knowledge of information security analysis and design techniques Experience that demonstrates knowledge of data security practices and procedures, including risk assessment, authentication technologies, and security attack pathologies Experience with technology log management requirements, standards, and practices Experience working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects Ability to work independently and in a team environment Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines Expert research, analytical, and problem solving skills Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills Advanced skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely Expert verbal and written communication skills Advanced skill analyzing and organizing problems or work processes for technical solutions Experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors Skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact Strong word processing and spreadsheet software skills Bachelor's Degree in business, information systems, or related field GSEC, GCIH, SEC+, or other Information Security certifications
