Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Special Operations Divisions (OS), Administrative and Fiscal Unit (OSOA) Arlington, VA.

This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as an advisory staff to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC), on highly complex programs, to include all manpower, funds, equipment, facilities and security.

As a your typical work assignments may include:

* Manages process improvements, maintaining liaison with senior management partners.

* Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

* Reviews position descriptions biennially to ensure accuracy and the most effective utilization of personnel resources.

* Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of planning & integration work.

* Reviews organization mission, functions, and manning. Identifies requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Advising and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management 2) Advising and counseling on division matters related to long-range planning, personnel and organizational issues; 3) Establishing, and monitoring the necessary internal control procedures and expenditures of financial resources in all program areas to ensure compliance with approved budgets and program objectives; and 4) Establishing, and monitoring the necessary internal control procedures and expenditures of financial resources in all program areas to ensure compliance with approved budgets and program objectives; 5) Providing technical direction to subordinate employees on work to be accomplished; 6) Resolving complex and highly controversial issues and problems.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
