Organizational Development Specialist

Job description

Overview: As an Organizational Development Specialist at mPower, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert consulting services to federal government clients, assisting them in optimizing their organizations for maximum efficiency and effectiveness towards mission goals. You will be responsible for conducting interviews, analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing strategic recommendations for process improvements.


Responsibilities:

- Conduct interviews with teams across multiple business functions to gather insights into organizational structures, workflows, and challenges.

- Facilitate human-centered design thinking sessions to gather data for organizational assessments.

- Analyze data from various sources including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workforce management systems, direct communications, and interviews to identify patterns and trends.

- Perform trend identification and gap analysis across workflows to pinpoint areas for improvement and optimization.

- Develop process improvement recommendations based on data analysis and stakeholder input, providing actionable insights to enhance organizational effectiveness.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop implementation strategies for recommended improvements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

- Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the implementation process, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed to drive successful outcomes.

- Deliver presentations and reports to executive leadership, communicating findings, recommendations, and progress updates effectively to internal teams and clients.

- Lead and manage multi-faceted workforce development projects, developing project plans and utilizing project management methodologies.

- Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field with 3 -5 years of related experience.

- Proven experience in organizational development, human capital consulting, or a related field.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources and derive actionable insights.

- Experience conducting interviews and facilitating discussions with diverse stakeholders to gather information and perspectives.

- Proficient in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Agile, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and departments.

- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Desired Qualifications:

- Experience working within the federal government sector.

- Graduate level degree and/or certification in organizational development or a related field.

- SHRM or IPMA-HR certification.
