  • Compensation - We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range, based on data-driven market analysis, for each job posting. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role in Washington, DC (Headquarters) is $75,800 - $110,400. Team members may also be eligible for performance-based discretionary awards.


  • Hybrid work option - Staff will be assigned to the Washington, DC (Headquarters) office. Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their supervisor. Travel to an assigned office or location for commuting purposes will not be considered reimbursable business travel, unless otherwise required by state law. Business travel is reimbursable in an amount not exceeding the cost to travel from the assigned office or location, unless otherwise required by state law.

Role Summary

The PCAOB has a full-time regular position for a Senior Travel and Expense Associate, reporting to the Manager, Travel, in the Office of Finance at its Washington, DC headquarters. The Senior Travel and Expense Associate will be responsible for providing travel, travel security, and expense report expertise to the entire company. This position will require a candidate who thrives in a multi-faceted professional environment, can work independently and as a team member, will establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and will strive toward continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of the day-to-day travel needs of the PCAOB, following company policies and procedures.
  • Process, review, and approve travel requests and expense report transactions in the Concur system according to policy.
  • Collect and interpret data to produce travel and expense reports and spreadsheets as needed and/or on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct expense report auditing and make decisions on approving or flagging and returning expense items against policy.
  • Lead and participate in travel projects and initiatives across divisions with the PCAOB.
  • Temporarily perform duties of the Manager, Travel in their absence, as required.
  • Adjust and configure the Concur workflow and site, as needed.
  • Administer the PCAOB corporate credit card program to include processing card activations, terminations, and fraud notification.
  • Administer the PCAOB purchasing card program to include processing card activations, terminations, fraud notifications, reconciliation, approval documentation, and card changes.
  • Produce spend analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in managing and tracking the PCAOB's traveler information through the travel security platform.
  • Assist in managing the travel management company for both domestic and international travel.
  • Assist in travel risk management by monitoring for travel alerts, non-confirmed arrivals, and security incidents involving corporate travelers.
  • Plan and organize with HR department regarding candidate travel arrangements (or other special programs) and new hire training.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with various levels of contacts inside and outside the organization.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents.
  • Provide assistance and customer service to PCAOB travelers and expense report submitters when problems and issues arise.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in invoice processing and vendor payment communications, as assigned.
  • Cross-train and work with other functions within Procurement and Accounts Payable, as assigned.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in travel administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook applications.
  • Experience with expense, travel and travel risk software systems, and databases (e.g., Concur, , Crisis24).
  • Experience with credit card and bank payment software systems and databases (e.g., American Express, Bank of America).
  • Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills.
  • Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make effective decisions.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure, and be flexible.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
