Environmental, Health & Safety

Job Summary:

This position provides environmental support to the facility regarding air, water, and waste issues. This position monitors and maintains environmental programs as assigned to ensure compliance in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Description:

Key Job Elements

1. Provide monitoring support of all environmental aspects of the facility and work to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

2. Responsible for assisting in the gathering and preparation of required reports to federal and state agencies, company reports, and for the maintenance of such records and files.

3. Will be a resource to the site to address daily environmental concerns. Will help prepare environmental education and training materials.

4. Responsible to ensure compliance with facility environmental plans. Conduct inspections and updates environmental plans as required.

5. Support incident investigations and prepare reports for environmental incidents.

6. Work closely with key personnel in monitoring daily environmental parameters to ensure compliance.

7. Will work with the engineering team to provide guidance on facility projects.

8. Work with outside service providers as necessary to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

9. Promote environmental Best Management Practices across the site.

10. Assist in preparing environmental procedures and guidance documents. Review procedures developed by other departments to ensure environmental compliance.

Position Requirements:

1. Environmental or Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

2. Knowledge of state, local and U.S. Government regulations (OSHA, EPA, IDNR, etc.)

3. Position requires effective organizational, time management, and communication skills.
