The Pharmacy Technician/Driver is responsible for the overall care of the facilities and serve as their primary point of contact. They are responsible for processing new prescriptions received from the facilities, managing resident profiles, providing customer service, and coordinating with other departments to ensure the customer's needs are met. They will also assist with dispensing of prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with state pharmacy regulations. In addition, the Mobile Pharmacy Tech will participate in pickup and delivery of medications at client facilities and onsite medication coordination as needed.

Main Responsibilities
Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry)
Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned facilities, coordinating with other departments when necessary
Maintains open communication and works on clarifications with all assigned facilities and physicians
Process all inbound faxes from assigned facilities and triage new prescriptions, update resident profiles, enter literal orders and discontinue required medications
Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
May process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction
Assists in the training of new employees
Follows the policies on triaging new prescriptions, ensuring all information is complete
Escalates all concerns to the Pharmacy Manager immediately
Assists other Pharmacy technicians when needed
Answers telephones and fields questions accordingly
Drive company car safely on delivery route.
Employee must maintain a safe driving record.
Deliver goods in a timely manner and provide accurate record keeping as required by the pharmacy and all agencies involved
Organizational skills - determine most effective order of delivery.
Maintain Patient Confidentiality in Compliance with HIPPA.
Provide excellent Customer Service.
Handle and manage medications from pharmacy to facility
Communicate with customers and other employees
Represent Altruix in a professional manner
Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience
Required: HS diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
Required: Experience in a pharmacy setting
Required: Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications
Desired: LTC pharmacy Experience Skills/Knowledge
Desired: Experience with LTC pharmacy software (SuiteRx/IPC preferred)

Licenses/Certifications
Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician
Required: Valid drivers license with clean driving record for the past 3 years
