Bridge Engineer - 2 Openings

Permanent with the company but will be compensated on an hourly basis (eligible for 1.5x for overtime hours)


Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Architecture, Transportation, Geotechnical, or similar)

2-10+ years of relative bridge engineering experience


Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

Experience managing projects

Bridge Inspection Experience - may have to do that from time to time

County engineer experience

Ability to perform hydraulic modeling for new and existing bridges

Practical experience with ODOT and projects

Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Ohio or ability to get PE

Strong interpersonal skills / good communicator


Job Description:

The Senior Bridge Engineer is responsible for leading a professional or technical discipline department in the design, development, and delivery of project tasks while managing scope, budget, and quality control. This role coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules and assignments to ensure our projects have the proper resources at the appropriate time to meet schedules. This engineer will also be responsible for technical coaching and mentoring to other members of staff to aid in excellent service to clients.

The Senior Bridge Engineer will serve as the lead engineer for the design and review of ODOT Level 1 and Level 2 Bridge Project deliverables, following current ODOT design criteria.

Prepare and/or assist in preparation of reports, technical feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering studies focused on bridge structures.

Position is primarily for bridge management and design, but periodic bridge inspections are required when needed

Mentoring and checking of junior engineers design calculations, plans, and other milestone deliverables.

Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner

Prepare and/or assist in preparation of reports, technical feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering studies focused on bridge structures.

Develop construction cost estimations and calculate project quantities Responsibilities Responsible for the development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of the technical proposals and contract in accordance with company practice's. This engineer will also serve as the client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the clients satisfaction. Manages assigned project activities (project scope, schedule, budget, and company quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation. Participate in client contract scoping and negotiations
