EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Satellite Coordination and Licensing Director in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Germantown, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business units and engineering to develop, manage and implement spectrum management and coordination plans for the company's existing service and near-term roadmaps.
  • Provide complex and spectrum management advice to internal stakeholders and perform required technical analysis for International Telecommunication Union (ITU) meetings, licensing, and coordination.
  • Represent the company before FCC and relevant U.S. and foreign government officials, as well as at the ITU and related organizations/delegations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the need for licenses globally and coordination requirements.
  • Draft and provide input to the company's regulatory filings in the U.S. and globally.
Basic Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field and 8 years' experience in Satellite Communication Regulatory Affairs, or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field plus 10 years' experience.
  • Experience must include 8 years' experience in each of the following: Satellite communications and regulatory processing; Technical and regulatory framework (Telecommunications); Spectrum and satellite issues; ITU environment; International Satellite coordination; International negotiation of treaties and agreements for use of spectrum and orbital use; and radio frequency calculations/conversions pertaining to spectrum management/satellite coordination.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
